Chinese company to explore utilities development in Rasmale, Gulhifalhu

CMEC will work on raising the necessary funds to build roads in Rasmale and Gulhifalhu and establish utilities for people to live there.

The government has signed an agreement with a Chinese company to explore carrying out projects to establish utilities and build roads in the Rasmale and Gulhifalhu developments.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on the sidelines of President Mohamed Muizzu's ongoing visit to China. The signing ceremony was held on Thursday:

Construction and Infrastructure Minister Dr Abdulla Muthalib signed the agreement with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC Group).

A government official said on Thursday that under the agreement, CMEC will work on raising the necessary funds to build roads in Rasmale and Gulhifalhu and establish utilities for people to live there.

President Muizzu met with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday during his state official visit to the country. After the talks, Maldives and China will sign a total of 20 agreements.
