The Criminal Court on Thursday ordered the two men arrested in connection with the assault on Prosecutor General Hussain Shameem to remain in custody pending investigation and trial.
Shameem was attacked outside his house early Wednesday morning. Two people were arrested on Thursday on suspicion of the attack.
According to the Criminal Court order, the arrested are:

Midhuhath Adam, 23, Riveli/R. Alifushi
-
Mohammed Jazlan, 22, Jawaahiru-villa, Thundi/L. Gan
According to the order, evidence has been submitted to the allegations against both the men. The CCTV footage submitted shows both men participating in the attack on the victim, the order said.
Jazlan already has a criminal record on similar charges.
