Vaadhoo councilors suspended without pay over multiple complaints
The LGA inquiry found that Vaadhoo councillors had abused council powers and resources.

The Local Government Authority (LGA) has suspended all members of G.Dh. Vaadhoo Council without pay for several issues, including non-performance of duties and negligence in discharging their duties.
LGA conducted an inquiry into Vaadhoo council after receiving 27 different cases.
The council members responded to the inquiry report when they were given an opportunity to respond to the LGA's inquiry into the cases. In addition, statements of all members of the council and employees involved in the cases filed with regard to the Vaadhoo Council office have been recorded and documents have been obtained from the council office.
Following the LGA inquiry, the authority decided to temporarily suspend all councillors from their posts without salary and allowances. Different members have been suspended for different periods. Thus:

Council President Hassan Abdullah and Member Mohammed Shifaq were suspended for three months

Council vice-president Hashir Mohammed and member Sarah Mohammed were suspended for two months

Council member Mariyath Ibrahim was suspended for one month
