Imad Solih, who previously held various political positions, has been appointed as the CEO of the National Drug Agency (NDA).
The post of NDA CEO has been vacant since Mohammad Habib's dismissal in May on the grounds that his probation period had expired.
In a statement, the NDA said Imad, who was earlier a minister of state, will formally take charge of the CEO's duties next month.
