Maldives calls for action to stop Palestinian genocide

Maldives was represented by Islamic Minister Dr Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed at the OIC meeting.

Maldives has called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take immediate action to stop the genocide committed by the Israeli army against Palestinians.

At the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers Extraordinary Meeting held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Maldives was represented by Islamic Minister Dr Mohammed Shaheem Ali Saeed.

At the meeting, Shaheem condemned the ongoing violence in Gaza and Israeli threats to attack Rafah. He also reiterated his call for a ceasefire and called on the international community to take immediate steps to stop the genocide against Palestinians. He also called for adequate access for aid into Gaza.

During the meeting, Shaheem also spoke in support of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) order to stop Israel's genocide. He also said that he would submit a declaratory intervention in the matter.
