Former President Mohamed Nasheed is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives to take part in the campaign of his party The Democrats, which is contesting in the upcoming parliament.
The Democrats held a press conference on Monday to announce that Nasheed will attend the Democrats' upcoming campaign rallies.
Speaking to Atoll Times on the matter, Ibrahim Rasheed said on Monday evening that Nasheed will arrive in Maldives on the 19th of this month to participate in the campaign. He will return after the election, he said.

The party's legislative agenda will be announced at the surf point area in Male on the same evening

Nasheed, who was also the former Speaker of Parliament, announced his temporary retirement from politics last December.
One of the reasons for this is that he has been appointed Secretary General of the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF). Nasheed is currently living in Ghana to hold the post.
