A tourist couple has rescued a Maldivian employee from Dusit Thani Maldives Resort from drowning after fell into the sea.
According to Baa Atoll police, the employee on duty fell into the sea from the deck of a water villa in the resort.
A tourist couple saw the employee fall and begin to drown, so they immediately jumped into the sea and rescued the employee.
Police said the employee's life was saved and a tragic incident was prevented by the quick thinking of Jordan Daniel Van Dyke and Daniel De Bruyne.
"Therefore, I would like to thank the couple on behalf of the people and the police service. Their quick thinking has saved a life today," Baa atoll Police wrote in a Facebook post.
The agency honoured the couple and presented them with a plaque for their bravery.
