The government has opened for more transfer applications of land plots received in the Binnveriyaa scheme, from Giraavaru lagoon to Gulhi lagoon, while increasing the number of plots to be given from Gulhi.
This administration has decided that over 1,300 plots of land allocated at Giraavaru lagoon under the Binnveriya Scheme during the government of former President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih will be transferred to the Gulhi lagoon.
According to the Ministry of Housing, the land was allotted at Giraavaru without clearing enough land for essential services in the area first.
Following the changes that were made to Giraavaru land use plan, the Housing Ministry had earlier gazetted an announcement saying that a total of 1,347 plots of land would be transferred to the Gulhi lagoon, as there was not enough space available at Giraavaru lagoon now. Thus:
-
193 lots of 1250 sqft
-
663 lots of 1650 sqft
-
487 lots of 2050 sqft
-
4 lots of 2450 sqft
The ministry gazetted an announcement on Saturday saying that the number of applications for the relocation of landowners under the Binnveriya scheme (from Giraavaru to Gulhi) has been low.
According to the ministry, applications for plots measuring 2,050 sq ft and 2,450 sq ft were less than the allotted land and based on the requests made for relocation to Gulhi, the land use plan has been revised.
With the change, the following are now available:
-
196 lots of 1250 sqft
-
683 lots of 1650 sqft
The deadline for those who have received land from Giraavaru to move to Gulhi expires on Monday.
