A draw will be held on Tuesday among those who wish to move their land from Giravaru lagoon to Gulhi lagoon.
The government has decided to relocate 1,347 plots of land allocated from Giravaru lagoon to Gulhi under the 'Binveriyaa' scheme launched by the previous government.
A total of 2,210 people applied for land transfers.
The draw is scheduled for Tuesday at noon.
According to the Ministry of Housing:
-
Those who wish to put their names in the draw pool must be present between 9 - 10 am on Tuesday
-
If a person on the list is unable to attend or wishes to send a substitute, the person's information should be submitted through the Hiyaa Portal; submissions will be open from 10 am Sunday to 12 noon Monday
The draw among the transferees was necessary because the number of applicants in some categories exceeded the number of plots available for transfer. The increase was in the categories of 1,250 and 1,650 sqft land plots.
However, there will be no draw for the 2,450 sqft and 2,050 sqft categories as fewer applications have been submitted than the available number.
