Members of Parliament elected for the next five years have been sworn in on Tuesday.
Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan administered the oath of office to the members of the Parliament this morning.
The 20th Parliament, which was sworn in on Tuesday, consists of 93 members. The election of the Speaker and Vice-Speaker of the Parliament was held at 10:30 am on Tuesday.
The ruling PNC has 75 members in parliament.

The PNC Parliamentary Group meeting held at Muliaage last Wednesday nominated Abdul Raheem for the post of Speaker of the new Parliament. They also decided to nominate Ahmed Nazim for the post of Deputy Speaker.
