Maldives capital names street after Palestine
Naming a street in the capital city after Palestine was proposed to the council by Male Mayor Adam Azim.

The city council on Thursday approved the name of the street behind the private school Maafannu Madharusa as Palestine Street.
The street was approved to be called Palestine Street' at Thursday's council meeting.
This street has never been named before and has also been closed. The city council said it is working to open the street soon.
Naming a street in the capital city after Palestine was proposed to the council by Male Mayor Adam Azim. The mayor said there are two unnamed streets in the city.
The first proposal to name a street in the city Palestine Street was made last month.
The council’s proposal was supported by the public on social media at the time, with some sharing their views on the matter.
Some even suggested renaming one of the existing streets.
