19 students get President’s Scholarship, 117 earn High-Achievers

The awards were presented to the recipients of the Presidential Scholarships at a ceremony held at Huravee School on Thursday evening by the President himself.

A total of 136 students were awarded the President’s Scholarship and High Achievers’ for their brilliant grades in higher secondary education.

The government gives two awards to students who achieve certain results in the Advanced Level examinations:

  • Presidential Scholarship for students who obtain A-stars in five subjects, including Dhivehi and Islam

  • 'High Achievers’ Award' for students who score A grades in five subjects including Dhivehi and Islam

The awards were presented to the recipients of the Presidential Scholarships at a ceremony held at Huravee School in Hulhumale on Thursday evening by the President himself.

  • 19 students received the President's Scholarship this year

  • They are, six students from Villa High International School, six students from Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), four students from Ahmadiyya International School and three students from Arabiyya School (Al Madhrasathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyya)

  • Students receiving Presidential Scholarships will be covered by the government for all expenses of studying in a country of their choice

117 students received High Achievers' Awards.

  • The High Achievers Award offers scholarships to certain countries designated by the government

  • If parents wish to request, the government offers the opportunity to study in an area not on the list

  • The scholarship is awarded for first degree in the fields included in the National Training Needs List published by the Ministry of Higher Education
