The letter was handed over during Zameer's audience with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in Bahrain.
Maldivian foreign minister Moosa Zameer on Monday handed over to Bahrain a letter from Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
The letter was handed over during Zameer's audience with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa in Bahrain.
"I conveyed the firm commitment by the Government of Maldives to further strengthen the existing bonds of friendship between the #Maldives and #Bahrain," Zameer's post on X read.
Zameer's four-day visit follows an invitation from Bahrain's foreign minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
The visit will involve high-level discussions between Zameer and his Bahraini counterpart. The discussions will focus on reviewing the longstanding bilateral relations between the Maldives and Bahrain, with a view to exploring opportunities for future cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
This year marks the 44th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
In addition to meetings with the foreign minister of Bahrain, Zameer is scheduled to hold discussions with other senior officials from Bahrain.
These include the Minister of Finance and National Economy, the Minister of Oil and Environment, and the Minister of Tourism. The meetings will centre on enhancing collaboration between the Maldives and Bahrain across various sectors.
