Unlicensed 26-year-old identified as car driver in fatal accident

Police have identified the driver of a race car that fatally hit a young man on Friday as a 26-year-old Maldivian who did not have a driver's licence.
Police identified the arrested driver as Mohamed Visam Sidqee from Addu Hithadhoo.
Hassan Samah, 23, a prison guard working for the Correctional Service, was killed when his motorcycle was hit by the speeding sports car before attending a marathon in Hulhumale Friday morning.
The accident happened in front of the Ooredoo office building near Central Park at around 2 am.
The young man sustained serious head and face injuries in the accident and died shortly after being taken to Hulhumale Hospital.
A young man was seriously injured in another accident in Male Thursday morning.
