571 Telegram channels seized, 3 arrested for nude posts
The channels have earned around MVR 2 million in subscription fees.

A total of 571 Telegram channels that were sharing nude photos and videos have been seized and three people have been arrested.
Police arrested three people who were creating the channels on Telegram and sharing nude scenes of various people in Maldives and abroad. The channels and nine Telegram accounts were seized Sunday evening.
Police said they seized 14 digital electronic devices related to the three arrested.
The three suspects are:

Police said the suspects were ordered to remain in custody after being produced before the court for a decision on their remand.

Zubair Ali - arrested on August 10; He has been produced before the court three times and his remand has been extended on August 30 for an additional 30 days

Naseef Ali - arrested on August 10; He has been produced before the court three times and his remand has been extended on September 5 for 15 days

Ismail Rabih - arrested on August 20; He has been produced twice and he was last produced in court on September 5 and remanded in custody for 15 days
By using the 571 channels, 241,651 photos and 86,618 videos of nude scenes of Maldivian women have been posted.

Police have seized a number of channels that posted nude photos and videos on Telegram channels. The people involved in the case have been arrested and charged.
