BML Deputy CEO Aishath Noordeen to resign after 42 years

Aishath Noordeen, Deputy CEO of Bank of Maldives (BML), announced her resignation on Thursday after a 42-year tenure with the bank.
In a message shared with BML staff, Noordeen expressed gratitude to her colleagues and shared plans to bid them farewell in the coming days.
“Over the next few days of my employment at the bank, I will meet and say parting greetings to many of you and look forward to joining you at the anniversary celebrations scheduled for November 7,” her message stated.
She thanked employees, noting their role in her long journey with BML.
Noordeen joined BML over four decades ago and served on the bank’s Board of Directors for more than seven years. She played a major role in establishing BML’s international banking division. Reflecting on her time at the bank, she noted that the milestones and growth of BML have been deeply meaningful to her.
Addressing the team, Noordeen advised employees to adhere to established principles and work with mutual respect.
“As someone who has witnessed the bank’s most successful and challenging times, my advice to all of you is to stick to your rules and principles and be kind to each other,” she said.
In her message, Noordeen acknowledged the resilience of BML and its potential to continue thriving despite future challenges.
She also remarked on the importance of BML employees in her career and in the bank's success, adding that their progress and achievements have been a source of pride.
