Mohamed Hussain Manik retires after 4 decades in public service
At the time of his retirement, Manik was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Development Authority.
Mohamed Hussain Manik has retired from public service after a career spanning more than 40 years.
At the time of his retirement, Manik was serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Capital Market Development Authority.
In a statement issued on Thursday night, the authority said Manik had contributed to the financial sector and national development during his years in public service.
CMDA said that during his tenure as chief executive he played a role in the development of the capital market and in strengthening the institution’s capacity.
Manik was appointed CEO of CMDA on 13 January 2021.
Before joining the authority, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the Maldives Pension Administration Office from 2009 to 2019.
He also served as Managing Director of State Trading Organization during the administration of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Manik additionally served as Ambassador of the Maldives to the United States.
A large part of his career was also spent in service at the Ministry of Finance and the Maldives Monetary Authority.
