Privatisation and Corporatisation Board has announced changes to the Board of Directors of Maldives Ports Limited.
Mohamed Lamaan has been appointed as an executive member of the MPL board, replacing Ibrahim Ziyath.
Earlier reports indicated that Lamaan was being considered for the post of Deputy Chief Executive Officer at MPL. However, no confirmation has been issued regarding that appointment.
Before joining MPL, Lamaan served as Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Airports Company Limited. He resigned from that post on Thursday.
The appointment comes as the government continues management changes across state-owned enterprises following this month’s local council elections.
Recent changes have involved the departure of several senior officials and the appointment of new leadership at a number of government-owned companies.
