Maziya has purchased land in Thilafushi for MVR 2.9 million, following a transaction facilitated by the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) in June last year.
The Civil Court validated the transaction two days ago.
According to the Civil Court judgment:

Maziya acquired 5,035-squarefoot of land.

The land was purchased at MVR 590 per squarefoot, amounting to MVR 2.9 million.

The land was designated for industrial purposes.
The court stated that Maziya had completed the payment for the land. After reviewing relevant factors, the transaction was declared valid.
Allegations have been made regarding corruption in land sales in Thilafushi. It has been claimed that land was allocated for industrial purposes at a low price to selected buyers.
HDC has denied these allegations.
