India boosts grant aid to Maldives to $71 million
This marks an increase of $15 million compared to the previous year.

India has increased its grant aid to the Maldives to $71 million (MVR 1 billion) for the year 2025-2026. This marks an increase of $15 million compared to the previous year.
The Indian parliament on Saturday approved the budget for India, allocating MVR 600 crore to Maldives. This is MVR 130 crore more than last year’s MVR 470 crore.

India’s grant aid to the Maldives is the second-highest among SAARC countries after Nepal, which has been allocated MVR 700 crore.
