Zaina Abdulla has been appointed to the Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) as the member representing the banking sector.
The PCB announced on Wednesday that Zaina was appointed to the board on Tuesday.
Zaina has more than a decade of experience in banking and finance, with experience in corporate finance, Islamic banking and governance.
She currently serves as Head of Corporate Processing at Maldives Islamic Bank.
Before joining MIB, Zaina worked at the PCB as a Senior Officer, where her responsibilities included monitoring and evaluating state-owned enterprises, reviewing financial statements, budgets and business plans, and supporting governance-related initiatives.
According to the PCB, her professional experience includes corporate financing, credit risk assessment, regulatory compliance, governance and strategic management.
Zaina holds a Master of Islamic Finance Practice from the International Centre for Education in Islamic Finance and a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Pune.
The PCB is responsible for overseeing state-owned enterprises and advising the government on matters related to privatisation, corporatisation and enterprise governance.
