Urbanco said that the company's inspection revealed that 183 tables were installed and serviced on the pavements of 34 roads in Hulhumale. In order to resolve the issue, the owners of the businesses have been asked to remove them, the company said in a statement.
"Therefore, it is the company's earnest desire that everyone should take care of such activities and act according to the permission given to businesses so that the public does not suffer," Urbanco said in a statement.
The company said that takeaway business and café services are being allowed with an aim to make Hulhumale a place of recreation. Since the public still needs open areas for such services, efforts are being made to provide it as well.
