Consultants are being sought for the development of L. Kaddhoo Airport.
The airport operator, Kaddhoo Airport Company Limited, announced on Thursday that it is seeking consultants to prepare the master plan, concept design and redevelopment of the airport.
The deadline for submitting bids for the work is July 17.
According to the announced by the company, the airport is being redeveloped with a 2.45 km runway and additional parking space.
According to the information, the airport is being developed for:

Boeing 727 and 737 aircraft landing capacity

Including a seaplane terminal

A new fuel farm

A new air traffic control tower

A terminal building to accommodate 600 passengers during peak hours
The government announced in January that it would seek funding for the development of Kaddhoo Airport to accommodate international flight operations.
The government did not disclose who was selected for the project.
