
MACL resumes 50% salary payment in USD
With the reduction in dollar revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MACL began paying the full salary in Maldivian Rufiyaa.
Maldives Airports Company (MACL) has decided to resume paying 50% of employee salary in US dollars from September.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, 50% of salary was paid in dollars. However, with the reduction in dollar revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, MACL began paying the full salary in Maldivian Rufiyaa.
The company has decided to pay 50% of salary in dollars again from this month, according to an internal memo sent to its employees on Wednesday.
MACL is one of the companies that pays the highest bonuses to its employees. For the past two years, the company has paid MVR 25,000 as an annual bonus.
