Bestbuy Maldives(BBM), partner of Unilever’s Lifebuoy range in Maldives, is all set to conduct and launch H for Hadwashing GHD 2023 event in Male in collaboration with Kangaroo Kids International Pre School on October 24.

The H for Handwashing Games, developed to address post-pandemic hygiene fatigue, comes at a critical time when hand washing rates have been on a decline. Recent studies have shown that hand washing rates have decreased drastically– from 78% in March 2020 to 59% in September 2021.

This alarming decrease in hand washing rates could potentially result in a higher number of children falling ill due to preventable infections and diseases. Lifebuoy recognises the pressing need to combat hygiene fatigue and reinvigorate hand washing habits, particularly among children. The H for Handwashing Games are a direct response to this need, providing an engaging and interactive solution to educate and inspire children to practice proper hand hygiene consistently.

Guided by a behaviour change model, and in collaboration with Imagimake, Lifebuoy’s H for Handwashing Games are designed to captivate and engage young minds, by combining the power of play with the importance of hand hygiene. The collection of games includes four beloved boardgames that have been ingeniously reimagined to encourage children to learn and practice handwashing with soap while they play.

"At the core of our brand's purpose lies our unwavering mission to inspire and foster good hygiene habits that last a lifetime," said Parnil Sarin, Director at Lifebuoy, Billion Euro brand.

"It is this mission that continues to drive us forward, propelling us as a powerful leader in the industry. The H for Handwashing Games aim to address hygiene fatigue by making hand washing fun, exciting, and a part of everyday play. By capturing children's attention and imagination, we believe we can re-establish the importance of hand washing as a lifelong habit, even in the post-pandemic era, in a fun and engaging manner."
