
Italian cruise ship in Maldives with over 2,000 passengers
MS AIDAbella arrived in Maldives after docking in several Middle Eastern countries including the UAE and Oman.
The first cruise liner of the tourist season arrived in Maldives on Monday with over 2,000 passengers.
Maldives Association of Yacht Agents (MAYA), which represents companies that bring cruise liners to Maldives, said 2,008 tourists arrived on MS AIDAbella that docked in Male at 10:02am.
The cruise liner will spend two days in the port of Male.
MS AIDAbella arrived in Maldives after docking in several Middle Eastern countries including the UAE and Oman.
After Maldives, the ship will then go to Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam.
The government aims to attract 1.9 million tourists this year. More than 1.5 million tourists have visited Maldives so far this year.
