Parliament on Tuesday decided to pass the MVR 6.5 billion supplementary budget proposed by the finance ministry by Thursday.
Baarah MP Ahmed Abdulla submitted a proposal in Tuesday's sitting:

The budget debate will start Wednesday and continue for one day, giving each member 5 minutes

After two days of work in the committee, each member should be given 2 minutes in the debate on the committee report
His proposal was passed with 38 votes in favour.
Before concluding the sitting, speaker Mohamed Aslam said the supplementary budget would be tabled for Wednesday.
The parliamentary budget committee on Tuesday elected Kinbidhoo MP Mohamed Nashiz as its chairman and Alifushi MP Mohamed Rasheed as its vice chairman.
Nashiz is the chairman of the parliamentary finance committee. Rasheed is the chairman of the economic committee of parliament. The budget is studied by a joint committee comprising members of the two committees.
