Maldives tourist arrivals reach 1.7m; 200K more to reach target
Tourists from Europe are expected to decline next year, but the Chinese market is expected to grow.

The number of tourists arriving in Maldives this year reached 1.67 million, close to the state’s target of 1.9 million tourists.
According to the latest Maldives Tourism Updates released by the Ministry of Tourism, 1.6 million tourists arrived in Maldives as of November 29. This is an increase of 12.9% over the same period last year.
The total number of tourists arrived as at November 29 was 158,450. This means an average of 5,464 tourists had arrived daily.

The government aims to attract 1.9 million tourists by the end of this year and two million next year.
