China dominance continues as Maldives crosses 900,000 tourists
According to the Tourism Ministry, an average of 5,818 tourists arrive in Maldives daily.

The number of tourists visiting Maldives has crossed 900,000 by June this year.
According to the latest statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism, 907,066 tourists visited Maldives as of the 4th of this month.
This is an increase of 81,827 people or 9% compared to the same period last year.
825,239 tourists visited Maldives during the same period last year.
However, the number of tourist arrivals in the first four days of June this year decreased by 7.3% compared to the same period last year.
The number of tourists arriving in May this year also decreased by 0.9% compared to May last year.
According to the Tourism Ministry, an average of 5,818 tourists arrive in Maldives daily.

The government aims to attract two million tourists this year. Tourism Minister Ibrahim Faisal estimates that the number will increase to more than two million with ongoing efforts to promote Maldivian tourism.
