The news was confirmed by WHO’s Bangladesh office through a social media post on their 'X' handle, marking the beginning of his tenure on November 1.
Jamsheed brings with him over 18 years of professional experience in public health, making him a fitting choice for this pivotal role. His journey in the WHO began in November 2013 as a medical officer, and he has since held a variety of positions within the organization. Most notably, prior to this new role, he served as the WHO Deputy Representative to Bangladesh and later as the WHO Ambassador to North Korea starting in August 2022.
