Managing Director of state-run media Public Service Media (PSM), Mohamed Saeed, has resigned from his position.
A senior government official confirmed Saeed’s resignation to Atoll Times on Tuesday. However, the reason for his resignation has not been disclosed.
Saeed’s resignation comes after recent criticism regarding certain content broadcast by PSM. These incidents include:

A missing verse of the Quran during a live feed, after which the employees on duty were isolated.

Suspension of some employees for broadcasting content containing inappropriate scenes.
This marks the second resignation of a PSM Managing Director since the current government assumed office. The first Managing Director, Zeena Zahir, also resigned during her tenure.
