Ex-Fenaka chief Saeed charged with graft
At the conclusion of the previous administration, 75 cases of alleged corruption were under investigation in Saeed’s department of Fenaka.
Former Fenaka Corporation Managing Director Ahmed Saeed and Head of Procurement Mariyam Dheena Solih have been charged with corruption and brought before the Criminal Court.
The Prosecutor General’s Office said on Thursday that Saeed and Dheena are accused of facilitating illegal profits for Blazon Inc., a marketing, public relations, and business management company, through an agreement signed during their tenure.
According to the charges:

An agreement was signed between Fenaka and Blazon Inc., but the company did not complete the agreed work.

There was no confirmation that the work had been completed.
The charges include abuse of official position, which carries a potential sentence of one year and seven months in prison. The Prosecutor General’s Office also noted that Fenaka suffered a financial loss of MVR 848,000 as a result of the actions.
