Transitional office is not a government agency, the Managing Director of the Fenaka Corporation Ahmed Saeed said on Wednesday, denying the allegations made against the company by the office.
The transitional office held a press conference on Thursday last week to share some information based on the financial statements shared by Fenaka with the office.
The office claimed that Fenaka neck-deep in debt and had hired a large number of employees recently despite that. When asked about the allegations at a press conference held by Fenaka on Wednesday, Saeed denied the allegations and reminded the office of its responsibilities.
"The office of the president-elect is not governed by the government. It is an office set up to provide the newly elected president with accurate information about the institutes," Saeed said.
According to the transitional office:
-
At the end of 2018, the company had 2,756 employees
-
The company currently has 8,126 employees
-
This is an increase of 5,370 employees
Saeed said most of the water and sewerage projects implemented by the company were completed in the middle of last year and early this year. Once the projects are completed, more employees have to be hired to provide the newly added services, he said.
"Therefore, the employees who are required by law and to provide services will be hired during that period. They are not hired for political purposes. It may be a coincidence," Saeed said.
“The system where the chieftain sat on his swing and ran the power plant is behind us. The chieftan’s wife and a kid in his house could take care of the powerhouse building. But now, the powerhouse has been moved away from the population, and needs supervision and monitoring at all time, since it is all technical. We need the staff to stay on duty on the premises, need them to monitor water and sewerage systems. If there is an ice plant giving 24hour service, we need staff on premises there as well."
In addition, Saeed denied the allegations of the transitional office that Fenaka does not pay money to private companies after obtaining services.
However, the owners of some companies have previously held press conferences and even protested in front of the company offices.
