President Mohamed Muizzu on Friday conveyed a message of condolence on the passing of former India Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the people of India following his passing.

In a post on his official ‘X’ account, the president noted that former Singh’s historic visit to the Maldives in November 2011 marked a significant milestone in advancing economic and social development in the Maldives.

The president also highlighted Singh’s unwavering commitment to progress and his pivotal leadership in strengthening the ‘Look East Policy,’ which played a crucial role in fostering development and cooperation across the South Asia region.

Concluding his message, the president extended his heartfelt condolences to Singh’s family and the people of India during this time of profound loss.
