Civil Court has ruled on a case involving the sale of a plot of land in M. Kothanmaage.
The property was sold by Maldives’ Ambassador to the UAE, Mohamed Hussain Shareef, and Central Maafannu Member of Parliament Asma Rasheed for MVR 19 million.
The buyer, Ismail Asim, filed a lawsuit seeking a declaration of ownership over the property. In its ruling on Thursday, the Civil Court stated:

Asim purchased the allocated property for MVR 19.8 million, and the payment has been completed in full.

The property was owned by Mohamed Hussain Shareef, Asma Rasheed, Aminath Hussain Shareef, and Ahmed Hussain Shareef.
The court also noted that all owners confirmed in court that they had no objections to the sale of the property to Asim.
The transaction has been deemed complete in accordance with legal requirements for the purchase of land and buildings.
