Home Ministry on Saturday initiated a campaign to gather detailed information on expatriate workers residing in Male.
As part of the campaign, the ministry is conducting an operation titled Kurangi, which involves collecting data, including photographs and fingerprints, of foreign workers in the Maldives.
The operation commenced Saturday with the participation of 75 officials from the ministry. Key details of the operation include:

The event will run from 9 am to 6 pm Saturday.

Data collection will focus on foreign workers in the education sector.

Information on expatriates employed by some large companies will also be gathered.

The operation is being conducted in Male, Thilafushi, and Gulhifalhu.
As part of the initiative, the office plans to carry out screenings of foreign workers during the event.
The government has outlined its policy of implementing large-scale operations to identify and address the presence of undocumented immigrants. To date, over 4,000 expatriates have been deported under these efforts.
