Three people have been arrested in a joint security operation launched by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and Maldives Police Service Monday night, according to police.
As part of the operation, police raided a house in the Henveiru Rahdhebai Magu area and another near Galolhu Stadium.
In a statement, police confirmed the arrests and stated that searches were being conducted in connection with the suspects. Further details have not been disclosed.
Eyewitnesses reported that police officers wearing masks entered a house in Henveiru Rahdhebai Magu. A reporter captured images through a glass window, showing a masked woman dressed in black interacting with a police officer.
Media reports indicate that a man was arrested from the house. Police are also conducting operations inside a house near the stadium, and Shabnam Magu, where the house is located, has been closed off.
Authorities have stated that further information regarding the operation will be released as soon as possible.
