The Hoadedhdhoo Island Council has issued a warning regarding arson incidents in various parts of GDh. Hoadedhdhoo.
In a statement released yesterday, the council expressed concern over the recurring issue and urged residents to refrain from setting fires in public areas.
The council stated that such actions pose a fire hazard and may result in damage to agricultural fields, trees, and private property. It also noted that lighting fires that produce smoke affecting neighbours is prohibited under the public nuisance ordinance.
"Illegal arson in public places without adequate precautions is prohibited, and action will be taken against those who violate these regulations," the statement read.
The council has not provided further details regarding the enforcement of these measures.
