Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has confirmed that all remaining employees who were suspended last year in connection with alleged corruption related to land and flat allocation have resumed work.

According to an HDC official, 17 employees were initially suspended. Of these, three were dismissed and one resigned. The remaining 13 employees have now returned to duty.

The official stated that the suspensions were lifted on different dates, and some employees may have resumed work earlier than others.

In February, HDC announced that it had begun reinstating employees, with four remaining under suspension at the time.

The case involves allegations of irregularities in the allocation of land under the 'Binveriya' housing scheme, including the transfer of land in Uppsala to the brother of former HDC Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed. Other reported cases include land sold at below market value and allocation of flats to ineligible individuals.

Fazul was suspended from his position and later resigned. It was recently revealed that his brother has purchased an apartment in Hulhumalé.
