
Police report over 1,000 road accidents in Malé region

Police have recorded 1,069 road accidents in the Malé region from January to March 2025, prompting renewed calls for greater attention to road safety.
According to figures released by Maldives Police Service, the breakdown of reported accidents is as follows:

One fatality was reported as a result of these incidents.
The highest number of accidents occurred in Malé, where 561 cases were reported:
