
Work begins on Muli–Naalaafushi causeway, Muli Hospital
The project was inaugurated at a ceremony held in Muli on Tuesday, attended by President Mohamed Muizzu.
The practical work on the causeway linking M. Muli and M. Naalaafushi has officially commenced.

According to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), the project includes the construction of a 565-metre causeway, a 105-metre bridge, and the paving of roads on the causeway. MTCC was awarded the project in August 2023, with a project timeline of 600 days. The total cost is estimated at MVR 125.5 million.
President Muizzu stated at the ceremony that the project would be completed within the designated period of over 600 days.
In addition to the causeway project, construction has also started on the new building of the Muli Regional Hospital. The hospital project, also undertaken by MTCC, will consist of a four-storey building with a 50-bed capacity. The facility will include various services and operational infrastructure.
