President Mohamed Muizzu has called on the people of Maldives to observe Eid in a manner that strengthens community bonds and leaves a lasting impression.
The remarks were made during his Eid al-Adha address, shared through his official account on X on Thursday.
In his message, the President urged citizens to give priority to nurturing unity and social harmony during the Eid period. He highlighted actions such as showing care for elderly parents, maintaining neighbourly relations, strengthening family ties, and guiding children with appropriate behaviour and advice as meaningful ways to mark the occasion.
“These are the true adornments of Eid,” the President stated.
The President also referenced the ongoing situation in Palestine, expressing support for the people and offering prayers for their efforts. He noted the concern and compassion shown by the Maldivian public in this regard.
Quoting the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), President Muizzu reminded listeners of the importance of the bond among believers, describing it as a foundation for strength and solidarity.
The address concluded with the President extending Eid greetings and well wishes to the people of Maldives.
