President calls for adherence to Islamic values during Eid

Mohamed Muizzu on Tuesday called on citizens to uphold Islamic principles and preserve Maldivian traditions during Eid al-Adha celebrations.
In his Eid message, the President extended greetings to the people of the Maldives and the global Muslim Ummah.
President Muizzu stated that Eid is an occasion to strengthen values and encourage the younger generation to develop good character. He also stressed the importance of supporting vulnerable individuals and those living alone in society.
According to the President, the unity fostered during Eid contributes to maintaining peace and harmony in the country.
“The true essence of Eid lies in adorning oneself with the garment of Taqwa and renewing the resolve to prioritise the path of faith and righteousness,” the President said.
He further urged citizens participating in Eid celebrations to follow Islamic values and avoid practices inconsistent with Maldivian customs and traditions.
