Zakat fund distributes MVR 5,000 per person as Zakat-al-Mal
According to the Ministry, the amount distributed this year marks an increase compared to the previous year, when MVR 4,000 was allocated per individual.

The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has distributed this year’s Zakat-al-Mal to eligible individuals at a rate of MVR 5,000 per person.
According to the Ministry, the amount distributed this year marks an increase compared to the previous year, when MVR 4,000 was allocated per individual.
The total number of individuals currently registered in the Zakat Fund’s poor register stands at 2,852. The Zakat collected has been equally distributed among all individuals listed.
In addition, the Ministry confirmed that this year’s Fitr Zakat collections amounted to MVR 13.2 million, the highest amount recorded to date.
Zakat-al-Mal and Fitr Zakat are collected and distributed in accordance with Islamic principles to support those in financial need across the Maldives.
