Zakat al-Fitr collection for Ramadan begins

The Maldives Zakat House has announced the commencement of Zakat al-Fitr collection for Ramadan, starting on Wednesday.
The Zakat House said contributions will be accepted until the 27th day of Ramadan. Payments can be made through online platforms, including the Dhiraagu app and website, Ooredoo Maldives app, Maldives Islamic Bank app, Bank of Maldives app, Avas Pay, FahiPay and Bandeyri Pay.
For in-person payments, arrangements have been made at the Islamic Centre, with physical collection scheduled to begin on Sunday. At the Islamic Centre, Zakat will be accepted on working days from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. From 10 March onwards, payments will be accepted every day except Fridays. In the atolls, Zakat may be paid through respective island councils.
