The National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) disbursed MVR 25.8 million in June under its medical assistance programme, according to figures released by the agency on Monday.
The expenditure includes MVR 17.7 million allocated for treatment within the Maldives and MVR 8.1 million for treatment abroad.
The data shows that the highest number of individuals received assistance for respiratory illnesses, with 112 people benefiting. Support was also extended to patients with a range of other medical conditions.
