The investigation into the 1 June power outages in Malé, Hulhumalé and Velana International Airport is ongoing, according to police.
Malé and Hulhumalé experienced a blackout lasting about three hours on Saturday.
Police stated that preliminary findings and information have been collected regarding the six-hour power outage on 1 June. Based on this, the case remains under investigation.
“We will share the findings once the investigation is complete,” police said in a statement.

State Electric Company (STELCO) later stated the blackout was caused by the interconnection of the Sinamalé Bridge to the two cities.
