Police have said the body discovered on Monday in the area allocated for the Hulhumalé Water Theme Park is likely to be that of a man reported missing last week.
The deceased was found Monday afternoon. In a statement on Tuesday, police confirmed that a body had been recovered, but the identity has not yet been officially established.
Investigators said evidence collected so far suggests the body may be that of a 29-year-old Nepalese man who was reported missing on Thursday. According to his employer, he was last seen the previous day.
