A man who had been reported missing since November has been located in Thilafushi, police said on Wednesday.
The man was identified as Abdul Aziz Mohamed, 64, of Dhunfinige, Fuvahmulah. Police had issued an appeal for information regarding his whereabouts on Tuesday.
In a post on social media, police said Abdul Aziz contacted his family and informed them, through the Fuvahmulah Police Station, that he was in Thilafushi.
Police said he was found to be in good condition.
Abdul Aziz works on cargo vessels. Police had earlier said his family last heard from him on 3 September.
A family member had also reported seeing him near Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in November, after which no further information was available until this week.
