Businessman and Jumhooree Party (JP) leader Gasim Ibrahim has been admitted to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after his health deteriorated on Tuesday.
The 74-year-old became unwell while at his private resort, Sun Island. Due to low oxygen levels, he was not transported by flight but was brought to Malé in an emergency by speedboat in the early hours of Tuesday, according to a source.

People close to him confirmed he is receiving treatment at IGMH.
“He was admitted yesterday due to poor health. He is now recovering,” a source familiar with the matter said.
No further details have been disclosed.
